He spent 20 years working in virtually every industrial/operational site both on and offshore that BP operated in the UK. He built a reputation for transforming trade union relationships in some of the largest industrial sites in the UK and where workforce relations adversely affected business performance. It is during this period that Keith started to understand the impact that true authentic leadership had on employee relationships and bottom line business performance which led to his passion for developing great leaders in his final ten years in BP.
Inspired by the work of Jim Collins (Good to Great) he co developed a leadership model aligned to the needs of the operating environment and trained leadership teams from around the globe creating a step change in their leadership capability resulting in a transformation in business performance.
His final three years in BP were spent in transforming the way the corporation identified and developed future leaders with top team potential. This work in the field of talent management was recognized in 2005 by the Corporate Leadership Council as the global standard. It is also during this period that Keith’s unique one to one coaching skills in coaching the top one hundred high potential staff was recognized as a key factor in accelerating the development of those he coached towards becoming world class leaders.
Keith’s second career was launched in 2006 when he chose to retire from BP to launch The D&G Partnership specializing in leadership development and one to one coaching of senior leaders and those with senior leadership potential in some of the largest corporations in the world. “The Leader’s Voice”, The D&G Partnership’s flagship development programme has been described as the most innovative and leading edge leadership development intervention on the market globally. The D&G Partnership clients include HSBC, Kingfisher Group, BBC, Staffline, Zurich and BP. Keith personally coaches senior leaders and aspiring senior leaders across the globe from Australia, Germany, UK, US and Brazil.
Keith is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a Professional Accredited Coach (PCC) with The International Coach Federation and a Master in Neuro Linguistic Programming. He is married to Angie and has two children, David and Jodi who have now flown the nest. They divide their time between homes in Essex, Dorset, Ireland and Canary Islands.
